I am a British South Korean animator and artist based in London. I bring my cultural life experience through a frame-by-frame hand-drawn process under a digital camera, connected to a computer. I shoot each image as I manipulate the marks on the paper, rubbing out areas and redrawing, in order to execute the movement. These marks have maintained an organic process connected to traditional production methods and life drawing, while fully integrating digital technology. I use charcoal as the main material, as it can create images that leave traces of each movement, this serves as a tool to remind ourselves of our past, present, and uncertain future. I wish to leave my presence within the film, my artwork uses these trace lines that I have deliberately left behind from the act of hand drawing each scene.
It became a big opportunity for me to be more passionate to do my artwork continually. The artwork which has been awarded YourNOVA has be selected and screened over 40 international film festivals last 3 years included Annecy2020, Stuttgart, Telluride, Hiroshima etc.

Title: No Body

Description: This poem is about the city, portrayed through three emotional chapters of excitement, frustration and hope. Focusing on loneliness and (dis)connections, I question what it means to belong, to be part of a whole. Fingers and head are part of a body. A body is part of a person. A person is part of a family. A family is part of a community. A community is part of a city. A city is part of a nation. And so on. What happens when we stretch, bend or break these links?
No Body does not follow a conventional narrative story, but rather an emotional pulse that oscillates from excitement down to frustration until it emerges again, filled with hope.
